It’s estimated that 37.3 million Americans have diabetes, so it’s no surprise that the financial implications of the disease are enormous. The total estimated cost of diagnosed diabetes in the U.S. is $412.9 billion.

Approximately 80% of those with prediabetes aren’t even aware they are affected with early signs of the disease. Yet preventive care services that follow traditional delivery models can inhibit access to care and leave people without a clear picture of their current health. 

To this end, we’re announcing a joint partnership that will support the health and wellness of people around the world. Here are some other resources to consider when prioritizing diabetes care and preventive health:

• Take control of your health. The American Diabetes Association offers a few tools to know your risk. Most of their calculators take one minute or less to complete. 
• Talk to your provider. Diabetes increases the chance for heart disease. Learn more from the American Heart Association, and open the lines of communication with your provider before it’s too late. 
• Ask your employer to support your health. If they don’t already provide biometric health screenings, encourage your employer to include this as a wellness benefit.
